Learning to drive in mini cars, Runanga.1960`s.
Anna Panther
OMG Jack Lee, I remember them cars...
Michelle Dorreen
Me too!
April Jarden
Hayley Skeats and Deborah Hoy take a look at this.
April Jarden
Its the houses ,they haven't changed.
Hayley Skeats
I think the one in the middle April might be in better nick back then lol! Loving the cars though.
Anna Panther
Hayley Skeats, I agree, there are a lot of houses in Runanga & Dunollie that are far worse off now..shame they been let go as it makes the town look awful. You gotta feel for the ones that live near them as their value must diminish too. Some should be condemned!
Les Holmes Germanicus
Runanga community has got to stick together and stop having outsiders dictating to us.. This is where the poor are being shunted now.... Do we want it like SWANKY-bloody-PaaaaROA? Many people in Runanga and Dunollie, and Rapahoe have made for themselves some very nice properties and worked for their community. in many ways. Runangaites have always made the best of their talents in all areas and rescources. That is why we are known as the Home of Champions. There is rugged beauty in the landscape and toughness in the souls of the inhabitants. You gotta be tough to live here!
Heather Newby
right on Les Holmes Germanicus !!
Lynne Brown
Other night on talkback they were asking if you lived near and knew some famous people. I tried to phone mine were at top of list Dave McKenzie, Herb Hart and lots leaguies, BUGGAR couldn't get through, that would have shut the city-ites up for a while. In ratio for size of community that would have killed them!!!!!!!! When I take ChCh people over to play bowls I always takem out to show them wall of champions at RW Club it is unbelievable and they are always amazed.
Linzi Woods i remember this now at Runanga primary school . Was great fun :) Had forgotten until now thanks Laura.

Brent Tunnage
Brent Tunnage Traffic officer called Mr. Mahoney used to bring this to Grey Main when it was in Tainui Street. If you rode a bike to school, he would inspect it for a warrant of fitness, & put a sticker on the bike if it passed
