DescriptionGlen Johnston.." That old bit of the New River dredge used for the bridge went across one of the steep gullies that drain to the NE bank of the Taramakau inland from Camerons in what is/was called Nemona Forest."

Karl Barkley.."The Olgvie Tramcar is now Restored and Running at the Canterbury Steam Preservation Society at McLean's Island behind ChCh Airport also have Olgvies A&G Prices Vee Steam Locomotive along with the Wee Public Works Fowler Locomotive Which was behind the Hokitika Scouts Den, I found it's Boiler at Landers Glass Houses in Rangiora as I was asked to carry out a Survey on the Boiler and I asked one of my Old Steam mate's what they thought it was out of ! So that's how it came to be Restored !"
John Ogilvie published a book in 2014 that has photos of this bridge and many details about when they used the tram before changing to road transport. The books title is "Westland Indiginous Timber Sawmilling" (Ogilvie family sawmill operation; Gladstone, Rutherglen, Marsden and Nemona State Forest)
