Cole Jones Definately not 1997, long gone by then. I think it was about 1993 it got demolished.

Kerry Keating I was with the demolition team on the old place. I was a bit sad to see the old place go, but the old place was in a dangerous condition. There was a major crack nearly half the length of the building. Another hard quake could have bought it down. The risk wasn't worth it. The main counter was the only part of it being used. If a quake bought it down in work hours, deaths would have been a certainty.

Kathy Marshall I worked in many rooms in that building upstairs and downstairs. We moved back into the new Post Office in 1995.

Carole N Brent Shefford Neil, do you think that maybe the roofer is not re roofing maybe starting demolishion & removing roof..the entrance appears to be blocked off & the ph boxes have card on them so has to be close to demolishion time maybe!!

Neil Martin I did see the blocked off entrance and thought yes maybe they are stripping the roof . but thought would they bother or would they just bring in a excavator More likely is the builder is installing new iron on the roof in preparation for the buildings...See More
