Viv Sheehan I think it had to be from the old Blackball mine before the big strike when. All the cops were brought in.Judy (That area on the workshop and dam side ?) So the new mine was started on the other side as we know it. After the bridge and rail were built their would be of no further use for it .

I remember the remains of one tower near where we lived in Stafford St (late 1940s) - and the nice verge along the street to play on.

Think there's still one tower on goat hill, and U could see the scalloped ground where the buckets came over the rise and down into the Grey.

This aerial ropeway went to bins in Ngahere where the Stillwater Reefton line had reached.If you look carefully out in the swamp near the old school site a couple of towers remain or at least were still visible a few years back.
