DescriptionThe Iron Bridge - 6 miles up the Mokihinui River from Seddonville on the Inland Bridle track from Seddonville to Karamea.
The track crossed the river at this point, followed up Rough and Tumble Creek and joined the present road at Taffytown.
The structure was packed up in sections and assembled on the spot. It survived the 1929 Murchison earthquake but the big flood of 4th July, when the dam caused by the quake broke and swept away a pier.
It survived for another 4 or 5 years, when it collapsed in a storm.
