Carla Doolan I believe your Dad was the largest supplier to this factory in his day. Obviously in a lot later times than this but in the late 60's early 70's before it closed

I don,t remember it being like this, my Dad Tom Williams was the Manager at the time they closed Reefton, Greymouth and Westport and amalgamated it all to Westland Dairy, Alvin Olson would be the man that could fill huge gaps on the Butter factory his father was the first assistant to my Dad Tom,

Bob Laing my uncle Len think I remember when they put a thing in , turned the churn around and this big bit of butter fell on it and they pulled it out , I always look when I go past

Yes, you went over the railway lines around the corner Len &Vi Olsen lived on the left then the road to the golf course (a Banks family lived down there) on the right was the turn table for the trains and on the left was the butter factory off the road. There was a batch at the side of the factory where the truck driver lived, I think he was a Mitchell
