CommentsCurrently in 2015 the Iron Bridge has been fitted with solar powered traffic lights.

There was a story that after the big Murchison earthquake someone was sent to check out the bolts attaching the bridge to the piles and found some damaged. Apparently all of the bolts were removed intending them to be replaced. After the Inangahua earthquake almost 40 years later again someone was sent to check out the state of the bolts only to find that they were not there apparently not replaced after the Murchison shake. Could be true but an interesting story all the same.
