CommentsJohn Sweeney Yes he was Neville Hatwells dog. Neville was of course the photographer at Fox. Jim Kerr you are correct. He was a bit savage if he didn't know you. Admin, please correct spelling of Hartwell.

Heather Newby did he actually rescue people?

John Sweeney Heather Newby not that I have any knowledge of. I was a bit of a status symbol I think. There was a phase of glacier associated people having dogs. Frank Alack may have started it in 1930s with a dog named Chief. Harry Ayers also had a red setter named Chief in the late 40s. Stephen Graham had a dog named Butch and Ralph Warburton the Franz, photographer had a dog named Scott. Scott loved all the tour groups, always in the group photo.

John Kerr Heather Newby No he only bit people, especially us little kids, then we had to be rescued. I think he had a kennel under the tank stand?
