Trevor Scott 54 years ago Dad ( Ron Scott ) and myself put up ceiling tiles in the main Post Office room, as a matter of fact we built the Fox and Whataroa Post Offices, and did alterations to out laying post Offices on the Coast.

Trevor Scott Why would they pull the Old Post Office down? was it damaged by earthquake or some thing else?? That was as you say a very solid piece of building!!

Joy Baker It was stated at the time that it was an earthquake risk and yet it took lots of hammering to bring it down. We watched it from Jones' Cafe one night. Sad to watch.
