Bert Smith was the owner and I think from Memory he also had worked at Greymouth motors with Gordon Batty snd Harold Steer.

We hope to provide an history overview of Smith' Petroleom, including during the Inangahua earthquake with my dad, Bert Smith, driving the tanker twice a day, 7 days a week, up the riverbeds etc to refuel the equipment unblocking the river and roads and so on. Dad had drivers employed as well as depot staff based in Williams Street, behind the Greymouth Racecourse.

Hi Stu, Yes we can update the information required, plus more photos etc. The company was run by my father from 1962 to 1984. Smith's Petroleum Services Ltd were the Mobil Distributors for the West Coast covering from the Glaciers, Paringa to Reefton etc.
