DescriptionJohn A Lee ( 1891-1982) a charismatic ex soldier, orator, politician and propagandist married my mothers cousin Mollie Guy. Mollie was born in Waimangaroa to Tom and Alice Guy.
John A Lee was a dynamic figure in the Labour Party from the 1920's until 1940 when he was expelled for attacking the leadership of Michael J Savage. He was a writer and later on a bookseller. His best known novel, the largely autobiographical 'Children of The Poor'(1934) was described as a 'sensational book on vice, poverty and misery'.
