Grey flooded on the night after we moved in in 1978. We were staying at Revies but chose to move in to our school house in Leith Cres because we had a half anaesthetized cat in the car. Thank goodness, we wouild have had a metre of water through the car. Ruggs Transport (did out school move) were fantastic and so easy to work with. I guess everyone who lives "on the coast" has a story. Absolutely loved our time there and just loved teaching there.

My father was born at Dunollie in that year. As a young man he went to sea on a Collier from Greymouth and thereafter was in and out of that Greymouth port
