Pam Englefield-Absolum yes but that farm at Haupiri was pioneered by Sam Wallace and split in two late in his life to be run by his two sons whether or not Sam and Tim were related I could not say

Dianne Blythe I sometimes got a ride out to Cromwell with George, I had to get out to Cromwell on my way to High School in Invercargill! Lovely man and Jo his wife too! I left Haast at the beginning of 1967.

Olwen Harrison We were at George Wallis’s in 1964 shifted out to Hawea Flat after about 18months then back to to Haast to Carters then shifted out about half way through 67 I remember Jo I think she was a nurse they had a little boy called Neil who was only a baby I can also remember Tim calling in at times I loved it down there

I got transplanted to Haast in 1957, from the North of England. Really loved my ten years there. My husband was the first resident Police Officer in Haast.

Tim Wallis & brother George lived in Wanaka as did their mother. Their father had a sawmill in Whataroa before that. Both boys went to Christ,s College. Tim wrote two books. George lived at Haast for a few years before moving over to Wanaka.

My understanding is that Hurricane Tim was written by Neville Peat, about Sir Tim Wallis, who spent his early childhood in Greymouth.
