Patrick Beban Sorry got that the wrong way around yeah John and Mary Anne had a hotel in Kumara called Slattery's Hotel and earlier than that they may have managed and owned a hotel in Hokitika. Their daughters Ellen had the Railway Hotel in Reefton. Her brothers Paddy and Jim lived in the hotel hence it may have been called Slattery's. Also her sister Kate and her mother also lived there later on.

Patrick Beban Margaret Beban nee Slattery owned hotels with her husband Artie in Big River, and in Greymouth, the Trafalgar (Railway) Club and the Gilmer
