Brian Hope They set up the bar at Inangahua Camp.I was living with Simon and Judith Nathan in a NZ Electricity House about 6 months after the quake.17 at the time- fronted up to the bar one night- was served one beer and the barman leaned over and quietly told me to drink it and leave.

Tom Bowe Perhaps that photo taken after the 1968 Inangahua earthquake in which the Hotel was badly damaged and a large slip came down and reached the rear of hotel. I note the toilets at front of hotel gone and hotel in better condition than viewed in photo. My wife and I came from that area. IN 1965 I joined Police and stationed in CH CH and was sent to Iñangahua with other Police team for the use of my local knowlegde of area. Having been raised in area as child. Enjoyed many a beer in that establishment. Was sent over the day after earthquake, and there for couple of months with Police team. Many a story to tell of that experience

They had to turn the Lister diesel power supply off. just like us at the shop/ It was certainly not like that in 1960 even though I did not drink in it then. I left that to my older brothers. HaHa. Kevin McKenzie Yes I was only young but remember the petrol browser and yes this would have been post earthquake I lived down the road at cronadun up boatmans road my late father had a farm up there.
