Yes I remember the stern lady with the torch sorting out the noisy kids! I remember buying the homemade milk ice blocks that had a round bottom and a stick to hold it with. Early 1960s i guess.

Craig Norman We never rolled jaffa's. they were too expensive to throw away. Sometimes you would hear a whole lot of them hit the floor, because they had tipped the open box upside down by mistake.

Not Ada I think another name. My memory fails. She was bed ridden I think. They had a huge safe in the laundry I seem to remember. Rosie gave me a pile of her cookery books including some of Adas. Wonderful to see Ollie Mrs Cowdry and Rose. Passed them every day as we walked to school. Loved those thrupenny Snowflake ice creams at Saturday matinee. The milkshakes were so good. Ice cold milk and a large scoop of icecream and a scoop of flavoring. Great memories of our quality early days growing up in the Coast.
