Peter Kerr This is the best photo of the Briandale loco i have seen. From what I remember of the boiler records it came new and lasted until after WW2 when the circular firebox was condemned. The Dispatch Foundry gave a quote for rebuilding but the decision was made to scrap the tram and put in a road.

Briandale put the light rail into the 10 mile in 1927 and worked lots of different mines called Briandale until 1955. One story I was told was that the train had come from up your old home Town way from Chandlers but I couldnt confirm that.
