Daphne Coombs It was a long way when I was young, not so bad when we had bikes. We had a lot of fun on the way, exploring the brick kilns, bush edges and getting blackberries. Once Robin Smithers stepped in a wasp nest - there was a very quick retreat and some sore legs if I remember rightly!

Karla Dense I can still remember it. A bunch of kids took off when the ribbon got cut, then Dad took off running as well. Mum wasn't too happy about it, thought he was gonna have a heart attack - it's a 200m sprint lol.

Oh, that plaque! Does it still exist? Can anyone answer why the Grey District Council removed the one for The Greenstone gold mining town, and never bothered to replace it?
