From Albie Rose. He like me and his Dad bear the same names Walter Albert.Rose Granddad was known as Wattie, dad and I Albie. The Walter is silent like the P in surf bathing.Brian McIntyre. Ole Wattie was a hard bugger I did a family trace and found he was ex Royal Marine from 1890s he gold mined in the Yukon and he had a gold ring which is embossed WAR. this ring has been passed down the eldest male line all bearing the initials WAR. Although Walter has gone my son is Warren Albert.It is now in trust of my grandson William Alex. Wattie died going down Rewanui where he was a deputy he had a heart attack.
