Looking for a lost grandfather

My Story

DescriptionWe are trying to put the pieces together to fill a missing link in my husbands family with very limited information. We have found a photo and it has 'Lofty" written on the back. We understand he may have been from Nelson and had come down to Westport to be part of the building project for the Buller Hotel. He may have been a draughtsman or an architect, but we are going on our very limited information. My husbands mum was once told his name, but is unable to remember. She thinks it maybe Albert Reeves/Rees/Reese or Roberts.
We would so much appreciate anyone with any information on the build of the Buller Hotel, or 'Lofty'. We think he would be between 25-30? in early 1930. (My husbands dad was born in 1930 in Westport).
