Rhys Devlin The shop it is in front of is Ted Lloyd's grocery store it is a wooden tank.People used to perform on top of it and use it as a stand to broadcast there message at the time.

Peter Dennehy Must have been a few accidents , with people falling over them, especially at night, and after the pub closes.

Mort Cruickshank When they were first installed they used buckets to fill the hand operated suprise pump.Locals were pursued to help out with.pump .A shout at the local was the incentive to help.I will do more research on the tanks and post on this page.

Claudia Landis Lloyds rebuilt on this site on the corner of Weld and Revell Sts. in 1955 and the building is now occupied by Take Note Hokitika Bookshop.
