DescriptionBob Mc`Kerrow.."I have posted quite a few photos by Ebenezer Teichelmann so what did he look like as a mountaineer and explorer? Here is a photo taken of him in the Cook Valley South Westland in 1906. He was 5 foot 7 inches, slightly built with very thin legs. But he was strong and could carry a very heavy pack. I have written a book on him which is available at Paper Plus in Hokitika, Piccadilly books in Christchurch, the Old Mountaineer at Aoraki Mount Cook, or Adventure Books in Oamaru.Date of Photo1906.Map^[1]ContributorBob McKerrow

Angus Thompson I like the look of the boots he is wearing I was one of the last foot shooters for the forest service at mount Cook we had similar cleats on our boots toe and heal although they were horse shoe nails they saved my bacon a number of times.

Trevor Keith Scott Your right there Angus, I had the pony shoes and Horse Shoe nails on my climbing boots and Gum Boots as well, Worked well on slippery rocks and climbing Kellys Range and Mt Alexandra Otira area.
