Love them both. The way it used to be with Reefton coal mines keeping our town buoyant and now thanks to many volunteers the station "restored" to former glory as our reeftonites appreciate the visitor and tourist numbers.

When coal was king. Railway staff used to fill coal buckets off some of the waggons to stoke the open fires.

Brings back memories... started there as clerical cadet in 1964 . .. remember Sammy Carter coming with the mail at Railcar time ..Harold Lammas in "Reid's" small truck at the goods shed . Yep a long time ago

Loved this place every time you went there it was to meet someone you were looking forward to seeing or going somewhere you wanted to be, not many cars in those days this was our lifeline. Billy Quinn tooted the train horn as he drove over the rail bridge to let us know he was in town from Greymouth, Carl Naylor from Westport sending parcels from the workshops in Westport, who needed cars and trucks life was simple and happy and get got plenty of exercise no global rubbish most important employment.
