Alison Paulsen Jock Mc Dowell was my dad and we lived in William Street but his parents my grandparents and his sister and nieces lived in Turamaha Street.

Maggie Bell Yes, the smaller one in the front is my brother Bernard Bell. Thank you. That's a fabulous photo. Frank Bell was my dad and he was a NZ welter weight champion in the 1930's. Most of my brother's boxed. Personally, I had no love for it....at all. Aaagh...Greymouth.
Bruce Tones Yes, that is bert dixon, worked in the railway workshops, and that pic has nothing to do with boxing

Bert Dixon came to the Gilmer at lunch time for a beer or three, then would sometimes take me back and up into the cranes he was driving loading the coal into the ships, Loved being up there watching all the activity. Berts son Robert, was the Public Trustee in Greymouth for many years.
