Jim Galloway Used to catch the railcar regularly here to travel to Greymouth when I was growing up. Also in later years unloaded may hundreds of tonnes of fertiliser of the rail in this siding.

Nova Elizabeth Hichens My sisters & I had great holidays at Totora Flat. I remember mushrooming in the big paddocks, my brother was a train driver & we would go out & wave to him.My nephews & niece grew up there. They were the McVicar family.

Phil McVicar When we lived at the Flat, I would wait here for the railcar everyday after school. I picked up the grey star papers and then delivered them to the forestry camp and then from one end of the straight to the other, lots of memory’s

Grant McAlpine I went to Totara Flat school in 1941 when my father worked on the Big Grey dredge. Then we moved up to Ikamatua.

My Nanna was the post mistress there for many years. Ultimately it was moved to her house. Remember it well.
