Dad worked hard and played hard, he become quite an identity in the fishing industry and his name still pops up from time to time in books etc. Dad was also a great yacht ie, he represented NZ in the Commonwealth Games in Auckland many ,many years ago. The sea was his first love he even celebrated his 21st birthday on board the Pamir sailing vessel in the Panama Canal. Dad was also known for the immaculate way he kept the fishing vessels he was on. This was a Kroening trait passed down over the years (and still is today!).Dad and I were very close and I still miss him with his dry wit and kindness. Oh yes I too remember the curries he made, lol, he always said " you can always make a feed with a jar of curry and an onion".Map^[1]ContributorCaryline Hill‎
