Donald Mathias I immediately wondered the same thing. Maybe Brian Kelly on the left. Been 39 years since I worked with these fellows.

Gavin Thomas Dispatch built two of these skyline haulers for the forestry both went put to Tokaroa to pull the old crop radiata one came back to the forestry in Reefton Thomas Bros Logging up a 90' tower on it. I think Rusty Stuart got the other one both ended up back on the coast

Vern Pattinson They made a few for the Rewanui mine when I was there they worked really well they where yousd on the scrapper loaders

Karl Barkley The Garlick name needs to be Dropped as this wasn't the Firm's Name back in this Era ! R A Garlick Engineering was up Brewery Hill over Main Road !

Karl Barkley Talking about V12 Detroit Diesel Motors the other day when driving around Blenheim I came across one of these exact Motors ! What I saw First was the DISPATCH Emblem on the Top of A Radiator Cowling . So I went back a Couple days later to check it out and that's what it is . Sadly this one has seen a Lot of Hard Work & No Play unlike Rusty & Matt Rata who possibly owned it !

Remember dad saying too big to rail so went out through the port.Made for Kinleith mill I think.

Dispatch line hauler as Robyn says. Kell was my foreman and Barry was head man I guess you’d call him (2IC). Last one made when I was there was as Don said 450hp caterpillar motor. 2 stroke GM diesel. This really screamed at full noise. We used to use Leyland engines but to old and slow. Sat on tracks with a turn table under the front set for steering. We used to anchor it to the floor so Pat Hambleton could test it. It ran it so hard the rust from the roof beans used to rain down. We would come in one morning and Barry would have spray painted it all Caterpillar yellow. Everything was yellow around it too
