At the time of her six arrivals at Greymouth, the Capitaine Cook was operated by Sofrana Unilines of Noumea, New Caledonia, her first call was on the 11th of April 1974, when she arrived from the Solomons, via Brisbane with logs, Second call was on the 14th of September 1974 from the Solomons with logs, 3rd call 1st of March 1975 from the Solomons with logs, 4th call 22nd of January from the Solomons with logs, 5th call 11th of June 1977, from the Solomons with logs, and the 6th and last call was on the 11th of October 1977 from the Solomons. Built in 1948 as the DIANA, she had several changes of names and ownership, renamed SLETBAY 1967, renamed JACQUES DEL MAR, 1967 renamed CAPITAINE COOK 1969, renamed SAMI 1978, renamed WILLY 1980, renamed AN THAI 1982, scrapped at Kaohsiung Taiwan in 1984. She did work Westport under the name SAMI loading out bagged cement. Photograph G.FERGUSON.
