Karen Potter Been up there hunting.

Arthur Bass It was origionally for carying logs across and a few mines up there. The river kept washing approaches and sections out. When forestry was due to start harvesting pine trees, users were approached to put monies towards the new bridge that's there now.

Dick Thomas The bridge in the picture took vehicles, I would say this picture is after the earthquake when parts of the bridge had moved sideways

Arthur Bass The cables for the swingbridge that crossed the section washed out are visible.

After 1974 flood after it was damaged and swing bridge was put across for access to Waghorns paddocks the middle section was taken out by the flood

was a flood then swing bridge put up so people could cross river--before new bridge was built--used to take my motor bike over it most days--some of the boards WERE bit rotten--
