    By: William Gray11th Nov 2020 6:34PMFIJIAN SWIFT, As seen in the photograph into load tuna for Pago Pago in March 1975, her arrival wasn,t without its problems as loading was delayed by weather and a breakdown with the freezer in one of the holds. She had arrived here from Tauranga , where tuna had also been loaded there,after spending a week here she finally departed to Nelson to load more tuna, but more problems were encounted with the freezer equipment there, finally after more repairs she departed Nelson for Pago Pago March 1975.The FIJIAN SWIFT was built in Germany in 1957 for the United Baltic Corp in the UK there was a sister-ship named the BALTIC ARROW, the FIJIAN SWIFT was built as the BALTIC SWIFT. The FIJIAN SWIFT was purchased by Reef Shipping of Auckland, for the Pacific Islands trade in October 1973. She traded under that name from 1973 to 1976, Renamed HA,AMOTAHA by Reef Shipping in 1976, until 1979, still trading between mainly Auckland and the Pacific Islands, sometimes Onehunga, sold to Pacific Scrap and broken up at Auckland in April 1979. FIJIAN SWIFT. Arrived Greymouth 12th of March 1975 from Tauranga, Departed Greymouth for Nelson 19th of March 1975.
