Geoffrey King: The Fox Moth replica that was at the Hokitika Airport has been cut up and stored in a shed somewhere. The building housing the replica has been taken over by the WDC for rental car purposes. The building was built with Lotto money for specific pourpose and that was to house the Fox Moth. Accompanying the manequin in the display was the Flying Jacket and head gear that belonged to King Edward before he abdicated to marry Wallis Simpson. The plane in the picture once belonged to King Edward when he was the Prince of Wales. De Havilland then sold it to Bert Mercer( pictured).

Kath Windley: And we want it back where it belongs ,they had no right to take it away,I was proud to show my visitors that plane and it was very appropriate to have it there ,,going into the airport,, and Bert Mercer was a great pilot.

Anthea Keenan: Absolutely = special replica display - essential for younger generations to learn as well.

Peter Robertson ZK-ADI was the first Moth bought by Air Travel.
