DescriptionTom and Stuart Seddon, late 1890s, in Wellington. Tom, on the left, became an articled law clerk in Wellington and was elected to Patient as MP for Westland after his father died whilst Premier, in 1906.
Stuart survived WW1, serving in the BEF in Italy and France, but was severely affected by 'shellshock' and spent his remaining years in Dunedin.

Date Created11th July 2019CommentsPeter Robertson Met Tom (T.E.Y.) Seddon when I was about 14.He was a friend of my mothers family.Didn't know how famous he was.A real old gentleman.My mother called him "Tommy"

Noeline McCaughan I met Tom when I was 8 yrs old in 1944, he came to Kumara school and gave a talk to our class about his days as a child in Kumara. and it was eerily the same as ours including catching crawlies and skipping stones across the brewery Noeline McCaughan I just recalled a comment from my grandmother , her families

Noeline McCaughan Bother! the cat just walked over the key board! To continue, grandmother's family were friends of the Seddon family, she was somewhat older than Tom, when I told her he had visited the school and I had talked to him she said he could be cheeky little brat at times but was so likable you just had to forgive him.

Anthea Rose I think they were part of Hannan and Seddon. Our Mum was born in Callaghans in 1918.

Seddons great West Coast family from Kumara.... Kumara should be promoting them as part and parcel of our Heritage. Also Grandad's older brother on Dad's side from Rimu, his wife Ada was friends with Mary Seddon.
