Heather Newby Dad would give us 5 shillings and two of us would bike up to Intemans cafe for fish and chips and put them on the carrier at the back and bike home real fast to Blaketown , so the chips wouldn`t get cold.there was often an argument about whether we should open the packet a bit and sneak some chips,, but common sense won out and it stayed closed till we got home. That was a whole heap of fish and chips to feed five kids and Mum and Dad.
Sue Scott I remember getting 6 pence worth of fish and chips on the way home from the Friday night pictures....used to eat them on the last bus. You got 1 piece of fish and chips for that from Intermans... as a family we always got the F & C from up by the RSA Hendy's owned it I think
Carole N Brent Shefford Your right Sue, Bill Hendy owned it & it was called the Blue Marlin, wern't we lucky back then to have had so many good Fish & Chip shops...also a great selection of Shops in general, Groceries, Fruit & Veg, Butchers, Cake Shops....Oh to turn back the clock aye.
