Jessie Guy: They look happy enough but it would have been a hard life.
Yvonne Denniston: Finally , been waiting for something from Denniston Thank you.
Yvonne Denniston: My Great Grandfather was a land surveyor he and his work mate .They surveyed the land for the houses and his name was given to the mine and township.
Karen Mary Madgwick: My grandfather was a denniston miner
Jim Hill and uncle Jim Hill.
Tarn Aldridge: Link above Karen where you may find out some info..
Andrina Thompson: My grandmother’sbbirth certificate shows she was born in Denniston in 1900. How do we find her parents address back then and was the only place to live in Denniston up on the Hill or does it mean a wider area? I have been up the Hill to see the old mine area but not sure if this was where the family lived?? Any suggestions would be well received. The family name was Bartholemew.

Maye Dunn: Andrina Thompson I have looked in the Electoral Records and in 1900 they are just listed as living in Denniston...no street address. In 1911 they are living in Cape Foulwind.
Andrina Thompson: Maye Dunn - thank you for info. Does that mean they were up on the Hill then? Do you have a Cape Foulwind street address? My Nana became the First Lady Postmistress for the Cape - married name Andrina McIntyre.
Maye Dunn: Andrina Thompson it doesn't have a street address. But yes they were definitely on Denniston in 1900. Also no street address for Cape Foulwind. I can't find a Andrina McIntyre for 1900 about what year was she Postmistress.
Andrina Thompson: Maye Dunn thank you for your efforts - thats is great and probably explains why my grandmother
got TB when she was young?? Have just read Denniston Rose and sequel books and was amazed at the conditions up there! I only wish I had known sooner so I could have talked to her about life in those West Coast days
Denise Scott: I was also born on Denniston the 4th generation there of Webster, Hannah and West families. That's quite special. Does anyone know where the Hannahs lived? Robert & Minnie and children Minnie (married Les/Pat Webster, Bill (married May Brownlie) & Jim (married Nellie Kerr). Can't wait to visit again.
Maye Dunn: Denise Scott Robert Hannah lived at 46 Marshallvale, Denniston.
Bill Day We believe the chap on the right is my wife Suzanne (née Austin) grandfather Joe Connew who drove middle brake for 52 years.
