DescriptionDiana Wheatley.."Photo of my Nana and her siblings. On the back it says Mokihinui School, headmaster Mr Monigatti.
My nana was Sarah Jenkins, her father Robert was a miner and had a gold claim at The Caledonian Terraces up the back of what was The Railway Hotel and now The Pig n Whistle at Sergeants Hill. He and two others including the publicans son owned the claim.

Unfortunately there was a mud slide and John Thomas Monigatti junior (the publicans son) drowned in the mud. I am not sure if the headmaster was the same person or a sibling."Date of Photo1899Map^[1]ContributorDiana Wheatley
