Photo 1: Annie and Robert in the middle, Sarah-top row third from left. The boy in front on the left was William Jenkins who died in France in the First World War in 1918. Sarah was born in Waimangaroa and died in Westport.

Her husband George Albert Wheatley worked for the railways and built the house they lived in and brought their children up in in Derby Street.

Diana Wheatley There were lots of Jenkins in the Buller district, this Robert was born in Victoria, Australia and married Annie Neylon at Cape Foulwind in 1887. She also was born in Victoria. Their children’s names were Edward who never had children, Catherine who married a Davison, Sarah m Wheatley, William who died in WW1 and Margaret who didn’t have children either so the Jenkins name only carried on through the Wheatley’s and Davison.
