DescriptionRobert Jenkins had a gold claim up on the Caledonian Terraces, Sergeants Hill with 2 other men. He was a miner at Millerton and at one stage lived at Mokihinui. Eventually he and Annie settled in Westport. Robert was born in 1862 in Victoria, Australia and came to NZ in 1876 aged 14. He married Annie at Cape Foulwind in 1877. I would estimate this photo was taken around 1892-98.
