George Thackwell: School Holidays >Leave Ch-Ch 2am with the West coast papers (Press ) first edition ,slab fruit cake Sheffield , pie Arthurs Pass, get into Hoki about 7ish breaky at the Railway Hotel then on to NZR composit bus to Whataroa to Uncle Tommy Nolans , Bloody great memories.

Loved those railcars. Especially the 2am 'Press' unit to Greymouth. Was one pound a return trip for us youngsters.

was an exciting trip.. I remember going through Arthurs Pass and hanging out the window touched the snow on the trees.
