My Father lived in Crushington in those days and I remember him saying that nobody could sleep on a Sundy night because the stamping batteries were shut down and it was too quiet.

Richard Butcher In the late 60s our family owned an old cottage at the eastern end of Crushington that had previously been owned by Butchers , at that time the only permanent residents left where Suzie Deans and Joe Lines . I recall Suzie may have been born on Waiutu .
