Date Created24th September 2019CommentsAlan Messenger: Is a league team, probably a social team going on a trip; note the photo taken outside the bus. Also note the guy smoking in the back row!
Brian McIntyre: 4th from left in front row could be Thomas (Addie) Marley. Kohinoor?
Lynn Marley: Brian McIntyre I think it is dad (Addie Marley) too so would be Cobden kohinor and I would think it is early to mid 50’s
Rebecca Marley: Great photo of Grandad, Mum!
Alan Messenger: Note the letters ru? Between the two women- Runanga?
Kevin Fleming: Also note the Vs on the jerseys which would suggest League.
Barry Dickson: looks like norm gourdie bottom right hand corner
John White: Barry Dickson hello Barry. I think that’s Sarto Mulloy on the left of the front row. Got an idea this was an ex players or supporter visiting team that needed a couple of Brunner ring ins. Maybe the South Auckland or Sydenham end of season trip? Hope you’re keeping well. Go Storm!!
Margaret Mulloy: John White no sorry not dad I that photo. Hope you all well.
Ray Vincent: Front right one of the Burns? Alan or his brother?
James Codyre: Is that Wyldes of Runanga bus with a Cob/Kohi team?
Dennis Gibbs: Uniform style reminds me of Waro Rakau. Cobden Kohinoor were more plain yellow with no bands on arms. At least when I played in the 1970s.
Graeme Peters: There was no waro rakau back in those days
Alan Messenger: And in those days Cobden and Kohinoor were separate clubs.
Dennis Gibbs Graeme Peters yes there was, I played for them in the early 1970s. Unless that photo is earlier? We trained in Blackball one week and Ngahere the next. We used the swing bridge that spanned the washed away section of bridge.
Wendy Bruce: Dennis Gibbs photo looks well before Ngahere became Waro-Rakau (50th next soon evidently).
Alan Messenger: yes it is obviously earlier!
Dennis Gibbs: Wendy Bruce thanks. Yes, looking at haircuts does look earlier than 70s.
Percy Billett: The 1st man back row looks like Buch Harding from cobden
Bill Johnsen: love the ciggie...looks like a scalmer back row right two in..
Alan Messenger: Interesting that only ten guys in playing kit.
Lyn Moe: Yes a Cobden team, back row Butch Harding, Graham Herrick, Maurice Richardson, Geoff Scalmer last, a Marley and Gourde in front row. Vern Pattinson
