DescriptionMy post a few days ago omitted the main body, so here it is: This NZR bus - a Leyland - is shown with its driver Lionel Page my uncle. He had been one of the goldminers in the Waiuta mine, and around 1951 (the mine closed in 1951) was driving this bus which connected Waiuta with Ikamatua the nearest railway station on the Reefton to Greymouth line. I was raised in Ikamatua from 1937 - 1956. The structure in the background was the minehead in the Waiuta township.

Thanks for the update!I remember Mr. Page very well ,,a trip to Reefton on the bus was sooo exciting.I also remember Jennifer and Gwenda who were about my age ,,Does anyone know where they are now ?Anne (Maher )
