Big guy in the front with different jersey is Jock Airns, by his left arm is Ducky (Jimmy) Higson. I think that's Johnny Menzies on the otherside of Jock Airns. Could be a Soster and another Boote in the back row.

Paul Soster: definitely my father Joe Soster middle back row,did,nt know he played soccer,his dad did,nt want him to play league cause it would interfere with his violin lessons,Joe used to climb out his bedroom window and play league,turned out to be proficient in both.

John Coffey: Many years ago I led a group of rugby league supporters to a game in Auckland. Fog prevented us landing in Christchurch that night and we flew back to Auckland and were put into a hotel near the airport. When told our flight had been rescheduled for 6am -- and only a few hours sleep would be possible -- most stayed up all night for a few beers and a sing song with Joe Soster playing the piano and leading the chorus.
