As children myself and siblings were tasked with mixing cow poo with water and applying to the garden. Best pumpkin grown was from seeds I threw under the high verandah. Damn big ironbark pumpkins! I still love gardening.

Dad had the best garden. He would kill a sheep and bury the guts in his garden. He would get a wheelbarrow load of cow poop and spread that around his garden. He had the best veges. I remember he grew pumpkins in the huge cow poop pit. Had lots of pump… See More

Joy Meyer same with my Dad.. he got sheeps poo from the Goods sheds and he got seaweed and all manner of stuff to improve his soil.. I remember the huge cabbages he grew.

Visited 10 yrs ago. Thoroughly enjoyed reflecting on my relatives life in Waiuta. Ramsdens Avis and Sydney. My Aunty Shirley, now deceased, would say to me she could take me their and show me the Gold! What a wonderful woman.

It looks like there are pumpkins growing in the garden and maybe corn at the back.
