David Maciulaitis: Old steam crane there too. Now at Shantytown.

Lyn Moe Percy: Billett do you know if any of them were steam powered, I have heard of them burning wooden fish crates to get in.

Charlie Blanchett: Lyn Moe yes there was one steam fishing boat.not sure of the name.

Neil Martin: Is Foam there?

Lyn Moe: They used to sell you a string of half a dozen soles parked up near where the town clock is now for a few shillings.

Alan Pegley: Lyn Moe Correct. We lived in a flat above my fathers sports shop, where Kingsgate Hotel is now, When the boats came in my mother would trot over the wharf, and buy 6 flounders/sole for 2/6!

Trevor Molloy: my memory was on a Friday afternoon we would be in the Brian Boru hotel with a raspberry , while Dad was having a beer , there would be a yell she's here and you would look out the window and see the mast of the fishing boat , we always had a fresh fish tea on a Friday .
