DescriptionPoint Elizabeth No.1 Mine - Dunollie, opened in 1902. This historic site is the first State owned mine under Seddon's Liberal government. At it's height 200 men worked here. This mine was the first in the area and is the reason for Runanga's existence. It produced in it's 20 year life something like 20,000,000 tons of high grade coal.
