Does anybody have other early photos of Runanga Primary? My Dad, Val Armstrong was born in Runanga in 1913.

Louise Irvine Bessie and Albert Taylor, I remember them talking about Val. Was he in the UN?

Sandra Teasdale no, my grandfather was a miner...Armstrong and party up the 10 mile. His son, my Father, was also Valentine and he was the one born in Runanga in 1913. He worked his passage on a ship to England and did a Ph.D. from Imperial College, London then worked for DSIR and was posted to Washington DC and then London as Scientific Attaché to the NZ Govt. He died several years ago. He met my Mother at Greymouth High School, but my brother and I were born in Lower Hutt. I remember my grandparents talking about Taylors.

That’s probably it then, I do remember them speaking highly about a Val Armstrong and he’d been to visit them, I must have gotten the UN mixed up with the Attache role. This is going back decades though
