Date Created30th October 2019CommentsLyn Moe George Muir in this team was a great boxer who fought in England as Sapper Muir in WW 2. Google George Muir boxer. He won a nz light heavy weight in 1934 and a Australian LH in the same yr. He worked the mines in the Runanga area and was know as a legend for his toughness.

Sasha Webster Denise Scott Webster family from Blaketown, Neal is my dad, his father was Alex lived close to the airport.

Don Hutton Merv Thomas held the record for shovelling coal about that time.

Lyn Moe He died in a mine in DN with Bill McTaggart from Runanga Don Hutton. I didnt know about his coal shovelling Don.

Don Hutton Lyn Moe Merv lived just up from us in Marsden Rd. He was a powerful, muscular and fit man. I think he also played Rugby League for the Coast.
