DescriptionI was interested in the recent Ross Lime works photo.
Attached is a photo of the people who worked there in the early 1950's. I can only remember a few of the men who worked there as I was only about 4-5 in the attached photo. My father Alan Laing managed the lime works from 1950 to 1955 or there about.
I used to go over the the lime works quite a lot and was looked after by Jerry Dowling. My sister Thelma and I used to stay at the Dowling's when our parents were away.
Can anyone please help me with the names of men in this photo.
The people I recall are. Back row from L to R - Second person, Alan Laing, 6th person Jerry Dowling with me, the kid with the smart looking braces in front of him.
Front row. L to R. Third person. Bill or Walker a Maori chap who lived next door to us.
I am sure that Jack Owens is in the photo and possibly Robert Thompson.
