Geoffrey Bell: My mind Boggles at what they achieved in such a short time in those days. Gold was "Discovered" in late 1864 and the "Rush" started early in 1865. By 1866 this building was up. Amazing really

Glenn Johnston: This Temple Chambers got taken over by Kellers Cafe National as seen on the left. Then it became known as Kellers Hotel. Next name change was to Hotel Westland and now it is known as Stumpers..

Susan Barlow I so remember the Westland. After school drinks on a Friday! So long ago!!

Glenn Johnston I hardly ever drank at the bars there in Hotel Westland days but remember Mick's Inn and have plenty of memories of Hotel Westland and the Sullivans. Beau Broadbent a lodger/barman there used to buy a Press newspaper off me every morning from about 1969 when I got a paper run. My sister worked for the Sullivans at hotel Westland as a holiday job as did my mother before her but that was earlier when the Sullivan's had the Fox Glacier Hotel. Various functions were attended at Hotel Westland in the 70's.
