Date Created13th December 2019CommentsSteve Fitz-Gerald Lovely historic old building. At least Greymouth has woken up and not demolished everything from the past.
Brian McIntyre Steve Fitz-Gerald but its going last I heard and McDonnell's grocery store too
Steve Fitz-Gerald Greymouth has almost finished cleaning out all the unique historical evidence of the past. Perhaps a photo billboard could be erected for tourists to view to show what once was.
Concrete and glass can fill in the gaps
Sonia Mahauariki Good ole troppo days, had to zoom in to see I wasn't in this 1 .....phew
Taye Pugh I wonder how many of those bikes were in the grey river by the end of the day
Brett McLean The Duke Hotel had one of those, they called it the spewlux tour...it lived up to it.s name.
Ray Port Brett McLean yes I remember it..
The late Peter MacDonald was always involved..He never got the yellow jersey tho.He was always last to leave whatever pub they were in.
Cherie Liddell The infamous Troppo Day!
Del Godfrey Good to see the wearing of helmets! All sorts of mishaps on those trips!!!
Wayne Russell Great times those. Still have the tee shirt somewhere. Doesn’t happen now unfortunately. Sign of the times. Amazing time with great mates.
Brodie Grave When is it being demolished?
Tania Lee Somervail Beynon Brodie Grave they have started demo but had to stop due to asbestos
Trish Barclay Sad spent honeymoon night there all those years ago
Paul Dixon Troopo day such a shame how times have changed. Would never be allowed in today’s world. Thanks to worksafe and Nz police probably
Michaela Perkins it looked stunning.
Sheree Needham Funny remember the troopo day revies and the bikes outside and the drunkenness lol
Barrie J. Fowler Every old building that comes down contributes to Greymouth's decline as an interesting town to visit. Thank goodness Reefton has actively worked to retain its old buildings.
Steve Fitz-Gerald Getting a bit late to worry about it now. In 1970 everything was there to make it a tourist town of significance. Now it's not a destination, it's just a place on the way.
Mary Moffitt Might make it a more interesting place for some of us then?
Bryan McNabb Pity all the tour busses turn off at Kumara Junction and head to the new capital of the coast...Hokitika!
James O'Donoghue So sad..... Gee the fun police suck. Not allowed to do anything these days. Would of enjoyed that.
Alan Walton I always thought Hokitika was capital of Westland
Kevin Voigt Yes it still is
Barbara Fitzsimmons And so we look back .great times .to remember
